BaselineFT's Entertainment & Media Databases reports tracking Spec Market -- Professional Script Coverage and Story Notes Scriptshark -- Professional Script Coverage and Story Notes

The BaselineFT Dictionary

Coverage
The critical analysis of a screenplay, manuscript or other form of literary material for consideration to be represented, purchased or optioned. Written by professional 'readers,' the first part of a coverage usually includes specifics about the screenplay i.e. title, author, submission date, genre, circa and location. The bulk of the remaining analysis provides a log line, summary of the action and a critical response to the material. At all major studios and agencies, executives use coverage to weed out bad material, provide notes and help shape general opinions.  If you would like coverage on your project, you can request it by going to http://www.scriptshark.com. More info on ScriptShark’s coverage service

Discussions
Message boards for Baseline members.  Shared by your groups and PRIVATE (nobody outside the group can access).  Users receive email notifications when new discussions are started and messages are posted. More info on Discussion Boards

Email Notifications
Users of Baseline’s FilmTracker tracking boards can choose to receive emails notifying them every time a new project or message is posted to a group's tracking or discussion board. Notification options are on a group-by-group basis. To change your email notification settings, please go to My Groups.

FilmTracker
The tracking group service powered by Baseline.  FilmTracker was once a stand-alone company that offered tracking boards, film and TV databases, coverage services and a marketplace to showcase material.  FilmTracker merged with Baseline Hollywood in January 2001, forming a new combined entity called Baseline/FilmTracker.  The company has since been renamed Baseline, with the “FilmTracker” moniker remaining as the tracking group brand.

Group Administrator
This is the point person for a FilmTracker group. The administrator's duties include adding and removing members, managing interactions in the group and setting up events for the group to meet and greet.  The user who created the group automatically becomes the group administrator.

Infosource Platinum

Marketplace (Spec Market)
A listing of projects that have been submitted to the ScriptShark Story Department and have been posted for the executive community's review.

My Groups
Baseline’s groups allow you to create a group with your friends and colleagues to share information and jointly develop new projects.  Groups can be public or private, large or small.  Group members may share tracking boards, discussion boards, accounts and much more.   Learn more about our groups

My Lists
My Lists enables users to create customized lists of their favorite writers/directors/producers/executives/projects and any other data Baseline tracks in its database.  You may create lists of people and projects in the database (if you are a current subscriber) and may keep these lists private or allow access to members of your groups.  More information on My Lists

Submission Release Form
This legally binding contract allows second party viewing of unrepresented pieces of material. The release form protects the reader from intellectual property liability in relation to story, character and theme. Most professional entertainment companies require a version of this form to accompany all unsolicited submissions. Without this release, most companies will not even open a submission package.  View Baseline’s Submission Release Form.

Tracking Group
A private group of film or television executives who track, discuss, and discover new available material in the market place. Mostly focusing on scripts and manuscripts coming out of agencies and management companies, tracking groups share information on customized tracking boards. Originally a job done on the phone, tracking has become a successful Internet community tool, allowing up-to-the-minute information on new material. FilmTracker.com currently has over 200 individual tracking groups, representing more than 400 production companies, studios and distributors.   More information on Tracking Groups
