What if I can’t find what I’m looking for?
As a subscriber, you can email our editorial staff directly from any page on the web site and we will find the information for you. Requests for information from clients are treated as top priority and you will be contacted immediately. Most times, we are able to get the answers back to you in less than an hour.

Tracking

What is FilmTracker?
FilmTracker is a virtual gathering place for development executives tracking literary properties, talent and industry trends. Industry executives create private, secure groups where they can exchange information with other group members on new creative content coming into the market for bid.

Originally a job done on the phone, tracking has in recent years "gone digital", facilitating the transmission of up-to-the-minute information on new material. The BaselineFT tracking community currently comprises more than 200 individual tracking groups, representing more than 500 production companies, studios and distributors.

What is a tracking board?
A tracking board is essentially an online message board that has been customized for the specific task of tracking literary properties entering the marketplace. Members can log new entries, or update existing entries with new news on a particular project. Furthermore, all information is archived, enabling members to search historical data with ease.

What is a tracking group?
The term "tracking group" means "members of a particular tracking board". Tracking groups are most often formed by a number of development executives who know and trust one another enough to share highly sensitive information on a regular basis. Many tracking groups have been around for years - over time, group members gain a further understanding of one another's creative goals, and can help one another identify projects that are consistent with their taste in material.

How do I start my own tracking group?
All you need to create a Tracking Group is to register with BaselineFT and have the email addresses for the people you would like to invite to your new group. Once you have registered, you can create a name for your new group, decide whether you want the group to be Private or Public, and we will take care of the rest.

You and your group members are the only people that have access to your group. In fact, unless you create a Public group that is open to any BaselineFT member, no one using the site will even know that you have a group. The information you post to your Tracking Board is not accessible, viewable, or editable by anyone except your group members. You are responsible for the information posted and controlling whom you invite into your group.

How do I join an existing tracking group?
BaselineFT offers placement services to members wishing to join an existing tracking group. If you are a qualified film or television professional at any level interested in joining an active and private industry tracking group, please contact us for more help.

How much does tracking cost?
Tracking on FilmTracker costs $14.95 per month or $149 per year. However, groups and discussion boards are completely free. Contact us about corporate discounts.

Every posting has a "contact" button. Click this button to contact the writer and/or the ScriptShark Story Department.

Why do some projects in the MarketPlace not list a Coverage Report?
The writer has requested we keep the coverage off-line.

How do MarketPlace projects differ from those in the ScriptShark library?
MarketPlace is strictly limited to scripts and manuscripts that have received "Consider" and "Recommends" from ScriptShark. The ScriptShark Library is a direct posting service. Writers must have received coverage from a reputable company, including ScriptShark, to be listed here. However, they may have been "Passed" on by our analysts.

How many submissions receive Positive Consideration?
Over the past 5 years, approximately 3% of all ScriptShark submissions have received either a "Consider" or "Recommend" coverage.

How do I hear about these projects before they are posted?
MarketPlace keeps an active list of agents, managers, and producers that get a 'first look' at new material posted. If you're interested in being on this list, please send an email to storydepartment@filmtracker.com.
